About the role

Responsible for the complete and satisfactory installation of residential and/or light commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicates with customers to answer questions, resolve problems, and ensure complete satisfaction. Promotes products and services to customers. Trains other installers, performs complex installations, and assists the Field Supervisor or General Manager with work audits, site supervision, and planning.

Responsibilities

• Installs heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories in accordance with company requirements and manufacturer specifications
• Performs limited diagnostics as needed
• Designs, fabricates, and installs various ducts and duct fittings
• Performs start-ups on air conditioning, heating systems, and other components
• Delivers excellent customer service and promotes products and services
• Generates replacement product sales leads and communicates them to the Sales and Service Coordinator
• Ensures proper use, maintenance, and accounting of company property, vehicles, and tools
• Completes all paperwork accurately and collects payment from customers
• Maintains a clean and professional company vehicle
• Follows standard procedures, stocks the company vehicle, and manages inventory
• Assists with site supervision, planning, estimating, and quality audits on installations
• Trains other installers in technical skills and company procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with additional HVAC technical training certification
• 1-2+ years of experience in HVAC installation
• All valid federal, state, provincial, or local licensing or certification required for the geographical work area
• EPA and safety certifications required
• Proficient in the operational functionality of HVAC equipment and accessories
• Advanced skills in installing HVAC equipment and ductwork
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools and equipment
• Advanced skills in reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems
• Ability to start up and balance airflow, align belts and pulleys with little to no supervision
• Advanced skills in installing electronic air cleaners, refrigeration systems, hot water systems, steam boiler systems, humidifiers, and related equipment
• Ability to calculate heat gain and loss on buildings using approved methods
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Available for flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed

• Ability to safely climb ladders rated for 300lb load capacity with a 30lb tool belt
• Natural or corrected vision for close, distance, and peripheral tasks with normal depth perception
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
