American Emergency Vehicles (AEV) is a custom ambulance manufacturer for Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 and medium-duty ambulances. AEV is part of Terex Corporation, a global designer and manufacturer of specialized vehicles and equipment.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Installation of various vehicle interior/exterior parts.
  • Understand and carry out verbal and written directions in English.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Function with a minimal amount of supervision or no supervision.
  • Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled.
  • Assist in training installers at all skill levels.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Maintain minimum safety and 5S standards.
  • Maintain quality and time standards for each task.
  • Comply with all rules of conduct and attendance per the company handbook.
  • Knows spill response procedures and evacuation routes.

Qualifications/Training

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
  • Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices.
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Fundamental use of various pneumatic and power tools.
  • Familiar with the safe operation of various tools: including but not limited to drills, screw gun, chop saw.
  • Ability to use basic mathematics.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly stand, walk, reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally lift up to but not exceed 40#’s.
  • Work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions.
  • Work with arms above head.
  • Work from ladders or scaffolding.
  • Stand at a workstation for ten hours a day (minus specified breaks).
  • Perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.
  • Operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
  • Work in noisy and dusty conditions.

Work Environment

  • Near moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Bend, stoop, and squat.
  • Read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Work in an environment with elevated noise levels.
  • Personal Protective Equipment Recommended And/or Required Safety glasses, earplugs, steel toed shoes, knee pads, gloves.
