Responsibilities

  • Timely and proper inspection, repair, maintenance, and installation of customer equipment in a manner that exceeds customer expectations and aligns with Rite-Hite’s industry-leading customer service standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relations, exemplifying Rite-Hite’s commitment to service excellence.
  • Comply with all company policies and safety guidelines.
  • Perform field installation, inspection, and repair of equipment efficiently while meeting or exceeding customer needs, primarily working individually but occasionally in small teams.
  • As skills and knowledge develop, mentor other Service Technicians on complex field problems, including training on proper installation, service, repair, and administrative procedures.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork for field service, repair, and installation using handheld devices or paper backup forms, including service tickets, timesheets, open job tracking forms, and safety analysis sheets.
  • Maintain compliance with operational and communication standards outlined in the Field Service Technician Handbook.
  • Operate a service vehicle in compliance with DOT Driver Qualification standards, as well as truck-based cranes, forklifts, welders, torches, and power and hand tools.
  • Follow all customer-specific requirements, policies, safety guidelines, and directions on work sites.
  • Collaborate closely with all company departments to coordinate activities and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Occasional (under 20% annually) domestic overnight travel may be required for training or customer support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One to five years of experience in repair and service of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a DOT medical exam and maintain applicable driver qualification standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present information to customers or employees.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and the ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Problem-solving skills to address situations involving several concrete variables in standardized scenarios.
