Installation Lead

Reports To: Installation Manager

About the Role

Center State Propane is seeking a skilled and dependable Installation Lead to perform residential and commercial propane equipment installations while leading installation crews in the field. The Installation Lead is responsible for ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with company standards and applicable codes. This position serves as the primary field representative of the company and is expected to deliver exceptional customer service while mentoring Installation Helpers and maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document the daily pre-trip vehicle inspection before operating any company vehicle.
• Verify all required materials, equipment, and parts are available prior to each installation.
• Manage daily inventory of parts and appliances for installation.
• Utilize the electronic tablet to update job statuses.
• Record all labor hours and materials used through the mobile application to ensure accurate billing and inventory control.
• Complete propane equipment installations in accordance with company standards, manufacturer specifications, and all applicable codes and regulations.
• Contact customers prior to coordinate arrival time and exhibit exceptional customer service.
• Ensure installations are completed efficiently while maintaining profitability and quality workmanship.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout each project.
• Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Conduct a final customer walkthrough upon project completion, including:
  • Reviewing system operation and safety procedures.
• Mentor and provide guidance to Installation Helpers to promote safe work practices and quality workmanship.
• Maintain professional communication with office staff regarding project status, scheduling changes, and field issues.

Qualifications

• Experience installing propane, HVAC, plumbing, gas piping, or related mechanical systems preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read proposals, installation diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Experience using tablets or mobile applications for field documentation.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to safely lift heavy equipment and work in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of propane systems, gas piping, regulators, tanks, and appliances.
• Leadership experience supervising or training field personnel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with office staff and management.
