About the role
Oversee assigned site branch installation projects, reporting progress to the Installation Supervisor/Project Manager with the goal of providing safe, quality, and efficient service while maximizing profit and maintaining customer satisfaction. Responsible for the timely completion of projects and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on work priority, equipment quantity, and personnel skill.
- Communicate with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
- Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes regarding customer-specific documentation and closeout processes.
- Maintain accuracy of forecasted cost at completion by reviewing hours worked and material costs of the project.
- Meet with contractors and owners to discuss scope, budgets, performance, and close-out of projects.
- Coordinate installation or remodel jobs on-site, including supervising installers and helpers, and estimating labor and materials.
- Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts.
- Read and comprehend plans and blueprints related to the installation of cabling, communication loops, and components for energy management and refrigerant leak systems.
- Perform all job duties of an Installation Technician.
- Delegate tasks and motivate individuals.
- Read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, control drawings, service bulletins, technical manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations.
- Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent and correct unsafe conditions.
- Manage the team in a professional manner with strong leadership skills.
- Manage multiple priorities with minimal guidance and direction.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
- Five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- EPA 608 Certification preferred but not required.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC/R experience.
- Valid Driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Physically able to climb ladders, work at high elevations, and lift objects up to fifty pounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, and highly motivated.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and out of town as required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High level of professionalism and diplomacy.
- Strong customer focus and project management skills with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions, learn quickly, think rationally, and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
- Ability to work both individually and as a team with minimal supervision.
