As a garage door installer at Precision Garage Door Services, you'll receive training to quickly become operational with your own company vehicle and customer flow. We provide all the tools necessary to grow your career as far as you want. You'll be at the forefront helping our customers by repairing, replacing, and installing garage doors, ensuring they fully understand the service options available to get the job done right.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair: Repair garage doors, door operators, replace worn or broken parts, install new equipment including doors, and replace springs.
  • Educate the customer: Explain options for repairing the problem and preventing future issues. Review completed work with customers to ensure they fully understand it.
  • Sell services, repairs, and new equipment: Using our proven model, sell services to the customer using a good/better/best approach. Collect payment from the customer.
  • Manage inventory: Keep the right equipment, tools, and products in your vehicle to sell and repair equipment correctly.
  • Maximize your time: Fully address customer needs, offer the best solutions, and manage your time to assist as many customers as possible to control your income.
  • Quality work: Ensure the job is done right the first time.
  • Impress the customer: Leave customers happy and encourage enthusiastic feedback.
  • Commitment to safety: Drive and work safely.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
  • Ability to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to work in heat and cold, both outdoors and in garages without temperature control.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and solve problems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and ability to follow our process to serve customers.
  • Preferred but not required: experience in the garage door industry (we will train you).
  • Ability to use a computer and/or tablet.
  • Comfort with technology, hand tools, and mechanical equipment.

Pay

During your 90-day training period, you will receive a base hourly pay. After training, you will earn an hourly rate for the work completed. Most door installers earn between $60,000 and $100,000 per year.
