Responsibilities

  • Repair and install garage door parts and equipment on-site at customer locations.
  • Diagnose and repair: Fix garage doors, door operators, replace worn or broken parts, install new equipment (including doors), and replace springs.
  • Educate the customer: Explain repair options and preventive measures in detail, and review completed work with the customer.
  • Sell services and equipment: Use our proven model to sell services to customers (good/better/best) and collect payments.
  • Manage inventory: Ensure you have the right tools, equipment, and products in your vehicle to complete jobs efficiently.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
  • Ability to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for long periods.
  • Comfortable working in heat, cold, and uncontrolled environments (e.g., garages without temperature control).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and resolve issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and adherence to our customer service process.
  • Preferred (but not required) experience in the garage door industry; we provide training.
  • Ability to use a computer/tablet and operate hand tools/mechanical equipment.

Pay and Benefits

We offer competitive salaries that match or exceed other trades. During your 90-day training period, you'll receive a base hourly pay. After training, you'll earn an hourly rate based on the work completed. Most installers earn between $60,000 and $100,000 per year.
