Inspector Tester C - 1st Shift (Quality)
About the role
Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking an Inspector Tester C - 1st Shift (Quality) to join their team at Badger Dr. in Waukesha, WI. The hourly rate for this position is $24.45. The core hours are 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Responsibilities
- Performs assembly inspection of transformers/regulators at various locations in the assembly plants per established procedures.
- Performs electrical testing on assembled single and three-phase transformers/regulators per established procedures and monitors conformance to quality standards.
- Performs routine factory dielectric tests per established procedures, including OX (induced), QC impulse, and hipot (applied potential).
- Performs routine factory loss tests per established procedures, including load loss (winding loss) & no-load loss (core loss).
- Performs power factor, ratio, and resistance tests per established procedures.
- Performs operational tests on regulators as required.
- Performs continuity test on unit per established procedures.
- Follows routine tests, inspects unit nameplate, stamps impedance value on nameplate, and secures nameplate to tested unit.
- Performs visual inspection on interior of unit upon completion of testing.
- Performs minor maintenance of test equipment.
- Performs special routine tests when required.
- Completes various company forms to communicate inspection status and other information and to document inspection results per established procedures.
- Collects various types of data per established procedures as required.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.
Skills
- Ability to work overtime when required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
