Inspector (NDT Level II Inspector - MT and PT)

Southern Tool Inspection is a fast‑growing inspection company serving the oil and gas industry, specializing in downhole tubular goods such as BHA components, mud motors, fishing and completion tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform NDT inspections (MT and PT) on downhole tools, ensuring work has been actively inspected within the last six months.
• Clean and prepare tools for personal use or for other inspectors.
• Utilize tablets, laptops, or computers to record inspection data.
• Collaborate with team members, follow instructions, and maintain a safety‑first mindset.

Requirements

• Level II NDT inspector certification with MT & PT experience.
• Recent hands‑on inspection experience with oilfield down‑hole tools.
• Additional certifications such as UT shear wave and/or eddy current are a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven certification hours as an NDT inspector.
• Ability to pass a drug screen, physical examination, and background check.
• Dependable transportation.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ethical, safety‑minded, and a “can‑do” attitude.
• Willingness to work as part of a team.
