Inspector III

About the role

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It involves Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, operate, and assist multiple technologies such as Taylor Hobson, Blue light, CMM, laser tracker, Romer arm, and manual layout mechanical inspection using Blueprints.
• Perform first article, in-process, final, and receiving inspections.
• Provide feedback to machinists and engineers with dimensional data.
• Document, track, and complete discrepancy reports.
• Support process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain and track inspection equipment calibrations.
• Maintain configuration control on files and job records.
• Safely work within an industrial environment.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
• Laser Tracker Experience.
• Blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009 standard.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fully proficient in the use of precision hand tools, gages, optical comparator, and surface plate work.
• Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, schedules, and operational demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Microsoft Office Proficiency.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.

Qualifications

• Desired CAD and MBD system knowledge, preferably Creo.
• PC DMIS Software knowledge.
• Leica and Spatial Analyzer knowledge.
• Taylor Hobson experience.
• Atos GOM and Zeiss Inspect software knowledge.
• Blue light experience.
• Basic machining knowledge.
• Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
• Outside processing knowledge (heat treatment, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.).
