About the role
The Marvin Group is a Strategic Partner for Global Alternate Mission Equipment and Sustainment. Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough product inspections requiring basic GD&T knowledge and other Quality Control applications.
- Ensure compliance to MEC requirements, quality standards, drawings, specifications, and contractual obligations.
- Document inspection results and report findings in SAP, collaborate with other members of the quality control team, and contribute to maintaining high product standards.
- Perform independent inspections, validations, and/or verifications of internal/external components to ensure compliance to Marvin Engineering processes, procedures, and contractual obligations.
- Inspect product using basic hand tools and bench inspection equipment interpreting basic GD&T.
- Visual inspection of mechanical assemblies, soldering, and paint finishes, in accordance to engineering requirements.
- Review non-destructive test documentation and supplier documentation in accordance with MEC Purchase Order.
- Generate inspection reports in accordance with MEC policy.
- Identify and segregate suspect non-conforming material and generate Quality Notification (QN) in accordance with MEC Policy.
- Perform first piece validations in support of all manufacturing areas.
- Witness and validate fastener applications. Including torque, rivets, sealants, etc.
- Support all QC areas including receiving inspection and In-Process Inspection.
- May be asked to perform higher level inspections while under supervision; exposure to 3D model aided inspection.
- Interface with suppliers and/or internal customers.
- May be asked to perform Source Inspections at supplier facilities.
Requirements
- High School graduate diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Certification in GD&T required and/or 3 years of basic GD&T inspection experience.
- Five years minimum experience as a QC inspector.
- Certifications in relevant American Society for Quality (ASQ) topics or college degree in Engineering or other technical fields a plus.
- Certificates of Completion in Quality Assurance for the professional a plus (i.e., CSUDH Quality courses).
- Above average understanding of hardware blueprint reading (notes, features, views, tolerances, etc.) and knowledge of specifications and contractual requirements.
- Excellent communications skills – both written and verbal.
- Able to perform basic math skills.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Able to work with others and be a team player.
- Able to perform basic computer tasks and have proficient typing skills.
- Familiarity with SAP a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Able to lift a minimum 35lbs.
Skills

Pay
Pay Range (Non-Exempt, Inglewood only): $25.87 - $32.55/hour. Salary is based on experience, skills, and education.
Travel
May be asked to perform Source Inspections at supplier facilities. (5%)
