Inspector II
About the role
AECOM is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector in our Baltimore office for a variety of infrastructure projects throughout the BALTIMORE METRO AREA. Typical assignments may include water and wastewater projects, erosion and sediment control inspection, stormwater facilities inspection, and other projects.
Responsibilities
- Makes sure all work conforms to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements through inspection duties.
- Attends pre-construction meetings, prepares punch lists, conducts tests, and commissions projects.
- Plans and accomplishes goals using extensive experience and independent judgment.
- Trains new employees on the job.
- Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
- Tracks quality assurance progress and provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
- Conducts thorough inspections of wastewater treatment facilities, verifies compliance with environmental regulations, and collaborates with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve issues.
- Prepares detailed inspection reports, including photographic documentation and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Stays updated with industry standards, technological advancements, and best practices in wastewater construction and inspection techniques.
- Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
- Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- U.S. Citizenship.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to understand construction plans, shop drawing submittals, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations, and to identify and document deficiencies and deviations observed in the field.
- NASSCO PACP certification.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports in Microsoft Word.
- US Army Corps of Engineers CQM certification.
- Construction inspection experience on a variety of infrastructure projects.
- Detailed-oriented and ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.

Pay
The range for this position is $30 to $35 per hour.
Schedule
Frequent traveling to field locations. Locations and distances vary. Frequent outdoor work in a variety of seasonal weather conditions. Daily walking several miles to perform job duties. Frequently across outdoor construction environments with a variety of uneven terrains such as mud, rock, grass, dirt and other unpaved terrains and variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
