Inspector, Fire Prevention
Responsibilities
- Enforce the fire code and regulations established by the Township
- Conduct fire prevention inspections
- Respond to emergency service calls and assist in controlling dangers
- Periodically maintain fire equipment and apparatus
- Compile fire incident reports
- Maintain the cleanliness of firefighting facilities and equipment
- Participate in special events
- Perform various other duties as needed
Requirements
- Work authorization in the United States
- Eligible for background check
- Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Adhere to the Township’s Nepotism Policy
Pay
This role is classified as non-exempt according to the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
Schedule
Work is carried out under the broad direction of the Manager, Fire Inspection, requiring a significant level of autonomy and discernment, with reviews conducted upon completion of the work. Inspectors are limited to a maximum of 24 working hours per week. Their responsibilities must be fulfilled according to a set schedule, with the possibility of working extra hours when necessary.
