Inspector - Damar

We are a manufacturer of structural parts for leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the large business and regional jet markets. Our capabilities span multiple aircraft segments, including the engine pylon, struts, wing box, wings, wheel well, and interior. We utilize proprietary manufacturing techniques to produce high-quality, complex parts through cost-effective production.

About the role

The Inspector position offers a wage scale from Level 1 to Journey Level (Level 3). The QA Manual Inspector inspects machined components, sheet metal components, purchased products, raw materials, assembled products, and outside processing for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets aerospace manufacturing drawings, including tolerances, customer specifications, and technical requirements.
• Accurately compares product to engineering drawings/specifications, purchase orders, and manufacturing orders using common manual inspection equipment (e.g., PCMs, height gauges, dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges) to accept or reject product to customer engineering requirements.
• Documents product acceptance/rejection on manufacturing orders, processes rejection documentation, and performs various MRP system functions.
• Performs Rockwell and Eddy Current testing for product acceptance.
• Applies statistical sampling techniques.
• Reviews outside processing certifications for nondestructive testing, chemical processing, and finish, and verifies physical appearance of final product for conformance to engineering specifications.
• Understands, performs, and completes First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with Company and AS9102 requirements.
• Follows all safety guidelines, including proper use of safety equipment and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Preferred: Minimum of three years of hands-on inspection experience in a regulated industry.
• Two years (recent) of hands-on inspection experience in the aerospace industry.
• Passing score on Advanced Level Engineering Drawings Test.
• Passing score on Fluent Level Test on GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or college courses in related fields (e.g., blueprint reading, GD&T) are beneficial.
• Due to U.S. export control laws, candidate must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected under asylum/refugee status).

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The role is primarily indoors in a well-lit and ventilated manufacturing environment, with potential exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and coolant vapors. The position requires:

• Standing for much of the workday.
• Combinations of standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, lifting, and carrying.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Correctable vision to 20/25 or as per customer requirements.

$22.00 per hour to $33.75 per hour.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.
