Responsibilities
The Inspector impacts PSA Airlines' business growth by repairing and inspecting aircraft repairs. In supporting the Maintenance and Quality Assurance departments, they ensure that safe and reliable conditions for employees and customers are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, Federal Aviation Regulations, and Airworthiness Directives applicable to aircraft or components assigned by the Chief Inspector.
- Properly handle all parts/components during the repair process.
- Ascertain that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work before it is released.
- Coordinate with the Stores Department to inspect parts with obvious defects and determine acceptability.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control Supervisor regarding calibrated tools that need to be sent out for calibration or repair.
- Train and assist other employees in proper procedures, methods, and practices for their respective duties.
- Initiate proper paperwork for scheduled maintenance.
- Inspect all parts on the inspection cart to ensure they were received correctly in accordance with the parts card.
- Demonstrate a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to the Safety Policy and Procedures Manual and GMM policies, ensuring subordinates follow policies and procedures.
- Make recommendations for adjustments in methods and procedures to increase safety and aircraft reliability.
- Submit manual revisions for any identified ineffective processes and/or procedures.
- Provide oversight of all maintenance as time permits.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Supervisor, Assistant Chief Inspector, or Quality Control Manager/Chief Inspector.
- Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
- In the absence of the QC Supervisor, handle the delegation of duties.
Requirements
- Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.
- At least two years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
- Completion of PSA Airlines Indoctrination training and General Familiarization (training qualifications accepted).
- Must obtain Airworthiness Release Qualification within 120 days.
- Must obtain CAT II Authorization within 120 days.
- Competent in the use of required calibrated test equipment.
- Ability to interpret and comprehend PSA Airlines work package instructions; ability to inspect and install parts/components.
- Thorough knowledge of PSA Airlines manuals.
- In good company standing (STEP 1 violations considered).
- Good knowledge of FAA regulations as they pertain to aircraft maintenance.
- Ability to interpret and comprehend internal and external technical data such as Manufacturer's Manuals, Engineering Orders, and PSA Airlines Work Documents.
- Strong ability to utilize MS Office suite and maintenance software.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment.
- Must be able to pass a vision test for NDT endorsement.
- NDT endorsements or willingness to attend the next available class.
- Borescope certification or willingness to attend the next available class.
- Capable of using respirators and other personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport or equivalent within 90 days of starting the position.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
- Must be able to demonstrate authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Run-up and Taxi Qualified.
- At least one year of experience working on PSA Airlines’ aircraft fleet.

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines, and filing cabinets.
