The role
The purpose of Healthcare Improvement Scotland is to ensure the people of Scotland experience the best quality of health and care. An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic and positive individuals to contribute to the delivery of the national quality assurance programme and regulatory function for independent healthcare in Scotland.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the planning and delivery of inspections and reviews across a range of independent healthcare services.
- Assess compliance with national standards, identify areas of improvement, and support providers to enhance the quality of care they deliver.
- Contribute to enforcement activity where required, ensuring that regulatory actions are proportionate, evidence based, and focused on protecting the public.
- Communicate complex, sensitive and sometimes contentious information clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing.
- Build constructive working relationships with providers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Healthcare and public health professionals.
- Prioritised for those with a clinical background, associated professional body membership, and experience in nursing, quality assurance, and the regulation of care and healthcare services.
- Education to degree level or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Hold a postgraduate diploma in a relevant subject.
- This role will require travel throughout Scotland (including overnight stays).
Benefits
- Permanent contract with Band 7 salary range of £52,845 - £61,466 pro-rata.
- Hybrid working will apply for the foreseeable future.
