Responsibilities
- Attend pre-construction meetings when necessary.
- Evaluate plans and specifications for construction projects to ensure conformance with regulations.
- Conduct field inspections to verify standards of structures and materials.
- Absorb and issue violation notices and stop-work orders where structures and materials do not comply with regulations.
- Report deviations and non-compliance with the scope of work.
- Prepare a detailed daily inspector’s report with manpower, material quantity, equipment, photographs, and maintain records of documentation.
- Attend meetings of construction projects.
- Successfully complete Rail Safety Training (NJT Light Rail or other Agency Training may be required).
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Inspector in multiple construction disciplines (Civil, Structural, Architectural).
- Active experience in rail yard environment.
- Education or training in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- Trained in OSHA 30 hours construction safety.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Proficient knowledge of construction work safety.
- Computer literacy and good written and verbal communication.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Available to work all shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Cell phone with smartphone capabilities (receive/send files, photos, video).

Pay
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000. The salary offered will be based on the applicant’s qualifications, education, experience, and work location.
