Inspector

About the role

Leads and conducts advanced inspection duties and assignments for the Inspection Department under minimal supervision. May direct or lead the work of others and establish policy and practice. Acts as liaison with other departments within the refinery.

Responsibilities

• Ensures mechanical integrity of refinery equipment: performs pressure vessel, piping, boiler, storage tank, and relief device inspections
• Ensures company records comply with regulatory requirements and may certify equipment integrity
• Maintains historical database for equipment used, to determine corrosion rates, scope of inspections, and frequency modification
• Interprets inspection results and analyzes for trending; based on inspection results, writes and prioritizes work for corrective action
• Oversees quality assurance program implementation for new construction and repairs or alterations
• Covers for Inspection Manager during absence; participates in budgeting process
• May make Auto Cad changes for new installation
• Issues Equipment Deficiencies and non-conformance reports; may track overdue Inspection Work Requests and/or issue repair recommendations
• Develops inspection plans and develops and reviews inspection department procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned, including: monitors mechanics of all piping and perform piping replacements, performs weld inspections, participates in vendor surveillance and selection activities, coordinates and administers contracts, develops intensive inspection plans using specialized NDE services, makes Auto Cad changes for new installation, issues Equipment Deficiencies and non-conformance reports, tracks overdue Inspection Work Requests and/or issues repair recommendations, develops inspection plans and develops and reviews inspection department procedures, covers for Inspection Manager during absence; participates in budgeting process, makes Auto Cad changes for new installation, issues Equipment Deficiencies and non-conformance reports, tracks overdue Inspection Work Requests and/or issues repair recommendations, develops inspection plans and develops and reviews inspection department procedures, covers for Inspection Manager during absence;
