Inspector
About the role
This position covers Orange, Ulster, and Dutchess Counties in New York. In the role of Inspector, we'll count on you to:
Responsibilities
- Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads and bridges
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and observations
- Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects
- Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing
- Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school or Associate degree
- Demonstrated experience in construction inspection
- NYSDOT or NYSTA experience

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
Skills
Technical skills in construction inspection, familiarity with MS Office, strong written communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
