Inspector

Job Responsibilities

• Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring that the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are followed.
• Performing inspection processes as described by the product work instructions and/or other directions.
• Performing first article inspections in line with site operating policies, procedures and work instructions.
• Executing customer and regulatory delegated inspection processes as authorized by those parties. Maintaining those delegated authorities once granted.
• Supporting root cause analysis, preventative and corrective actions to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
• Maintaining positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of production and inspection processes by implementing Lean initiatives.

Job Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: High school Diploma or GED equivalent, 1+ years of experience in inspection methods and techniques and following relevant work instructions, 1+ years of experience with AS9100 series requirements, 1+ years of experience working with LEAN processes and practices.
• PREFERRED Qualifications: Experience in an Manufacturing operating environment, Apprenticeship, Associate’s Degree in a technical subject or equivalent, Awareness of AS9100 series requirements, Previous delegated product acceptance authority granted by an Aerospace OEM or regulatory authority.

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking at least 7hrs/day
• Ability to carry and lift weight up to 25lbs
• Bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling required (At least 2hrs/day)
• Using hands for fine dexterity, light and strong grasping (At least 7hrs/day)
