About the role
The Department of Design & Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is currently seeking an Inspector to join their Construction Management 2 – South Queens – Section 2 team.
Responsibilities
- Assessing the grading, paving, and repaving of streets
- Connections to house sewers
- Retaining walls
- Maintenance of water, sewer, and utility manholes
- Conducting technical inspections of construction, repair, and maintenance projects involving roadways, sewers, pavements, and sidewalks
Requirements
- ACI Concrete Field - Testing and OSHA 10-hour Certified or willing to take the first available DDC-offered training session
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Valid driver's license (required)
- Personal vehicle (preferred)
Preferred Skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
- Construction knowledge relevant to infrastructure work (i.e., roadway, sewer, and/or water main)
- Familiarity with NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DEP specifications, MUTCD, and AASHTO standards
- Comprehensive understanding of the NYC infrastructure system and current engineering practices
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling and Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential (preferred)
Pay
$66,330.00 – $76,279.00
Schedule
Full Time - 35 Hours
