About the role
Based in Huntington Park, CA the Inspector C will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Quality Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
- Accurately perform hardness and other tests and records results as required.
- Complete conformance and other related paperwork; perform shop audits and or/reviews as required.
- Report any deviation, problem or irregularity to supervisor or management.
- Promotes safety and good housekeeping.
- Perform other tasks as designated by position.
- This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer's inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
Qualifications
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
- Education – High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum zero to two years in heat treating industry or related field
- Must have working knowledge of all testing equipment and terminology
- Basic knowledge of commercial and aerospace materials and heat treating equipment is desired
- Must have some experience reading/interpreting blueprints, be detail oriented and possess manual dexterity
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification
- Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language
Physical & Mental Demands
- Must be able to work in a sitting and standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone
Pay & Benefits Information
- The hourly pay for this position is $20.00 - $23.00 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law.
- This role is eligible for additional compensation, including shift differential, etc., if applicable.
