Inspector 1 (S-W, 9:30a - 8:00p)
About the role
We are looking for an Inspector for our Amherst, NY facility (Sun-Wed; 9:30 AM - 8:00 PM). The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing quality inspection on incoming and outgoing customer parts, quality checks on raw materials and supplies used in production. Performs product testing and analysis, and production materials planning. Responsible for upkeep of quality documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform all incoming and out-going quality inspections on customer parts to ensure specifications are met prior to shipping. This includes preliminary and post deposition visual inspections and maintenance of appropriate documentation.
- Inspections require ability to lift and move parts from 5-44 lbs
- Vacuum Packaging of products
- Performs coating characterization using various laboratory test equipment including:
- Optical/Image analysis (various forms)
- Coverage thickness on profilometer
- Wear track testing using a Tribometer
- Thermal shock testing
- Scratch adhesion testing on Fischer ST-200
- Calo wear test and assessment
- Nano hardness on Fischer HM2000
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical trade school or related work experience preferred
- Individual must have strong work ethic, be high-energy, and detailed-oriented
- Good computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Able to lift up to 44lbs.
- Able to work Sunday-Wednesday (9:30 AM - 8:00 PM) shift.
