Inspection Lead

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily inspection activities to meet quality and production requirements.
  • Assign work and provide guidance to inspectors throughout the shift.
  • Perform inspections according to established procedures and specifications.
  • Verify pipe condition and readiness for inspection.
  • Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained.
  • Identify, evaluate, and document product imperfections and non-conformances.
  • Review inspection results and documentation for accuracy.
  • Train and mentor inspectors on procedures, quality standards, and safe work practices.
  • Communicate quality concerns and inspection results to supervisors and production personnel.
  • Promote compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures.

Job Duties

  • Cook up inspection workflow to support operational goals.
  • Monitor inspection activities for consistency and compliance.
  • Aid in troubleshooting inspection and quality-related issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inspectors during assigned shifts.
  • Verify inspection records and reports for accuracy.
  • Support employee training and development.
  • Aid in investigations of non-conforming products and corrective actions.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment as required.
  • Occasionally exert 50 to 100 pounds of force and/or frequently exert 25 to 50 pounds of force to move objects.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Education And Qualifications

  • A high school diploma, GED, vocational education, technical school, or equivalent is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of inspection, quality control, or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Basic ability to follow and enforce inspection procedures and quality standards is required.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and support team members is required.
  • Basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills are required.
  • A strong attention to detail and commitment to quality are required.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.

Pay Range

$28.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
