About the role

We are seeking a Process Inspector – Level C to support operations at our state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in Huntsville, AL. This facility specializes in inert manufacturing, including the fabrication and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Use standard measuring equipment and techniques to inspect products, processes, and procured items to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and execute audit plans to ensure processes are followed, equipment is maintained and calibrated, and materials meet all requirements, including shelf-life controls.
  • Work with the operations team to verify products meet specifications and schedule commitments.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers to troubleshoot issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Evaluate similar processes within the shop and develop standardized inspection methods and criteria to minimize error, mistake-proof processes, and define standard work.
  • Assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes.
  • Collect data and/or assist with research activities, exercising judgment to identify and recommend solutions where errors may be difficult to detect and costly to resolve.
  • Troubleshoot processes and identify, modify, and/or escalate out-of-control conditions and production escapes.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, supervision, and operations personnel on equipment and tooling setup and calibration.
  • Ensure compliance with the calibrated items process and conduct periodic facility audits.
  • Participate in preventive maintenance activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires fully proficient job knowledge and skills.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a post-secondary/associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience, is required.
  • Must be able to perform confined space entry.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a quality-focused role within manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing systems (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and related quality management standards.

Schedule

3/12 shift from Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM.
