About the role
We are seeking a Process Inspector to support operations at our state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in Huntsville, AL. This facility specializes in inert manufacturing, including the fabrication and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware.
Responsibilities
- Use standard measuring equipment and techniques to inspect products, processes, and procured items to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Develop and execute audit plans to ensure processes are followed, equipment is maintained and calibrated, and materials meet all requirements, including shelf-life controls.
- Work with the operations team to verify products meet specifications and schedule commitments.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers to troubleshoot issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Evaluate similar processes within the shop and develop standardized inspection methods and criteria to minimize error, mistake-proof processes, and define standard work.
- Assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes.
- Collect data and/or assist with research activities, exercising judgment to identify and recommend solutions where errors may be difficult to detect and costly to resolve.
- Troubleshoot processes and identify, modify, and/or escalate out-of-control conditions and production escapes.
- Coordinate with maintenance, supervision, and operations personnel on equipment and tooling setup and calibration.
- Ensure compliance with the calibrated items process and conduct periodic facility audits.
- Participate in preventive maintenance activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0 to 3 years of prior related experience.
- Must be able to perform confined space entry.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a quality-focused role within manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing systems (GD&T).
- Familiarity with AS9100 and related quality management standards.
Schedule
3/12 shift: Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (Day Shift).
