On site at Glendale S.A.F.E. Center on Colorado Blvd. Schedule: Mon-Wed 6AM-2:30PM, Sat & Sun 7:30AM-4PM. Occasional overtime; off Thursday & Friday.

About the role

Oversee technicians—1 person during the week, 15 people on operational days (Sat & Sun). Operational 2 days per week open to the public (Sat & Sun), interacting with residents, answering questions, and maintaining a positive attitude as a self-starter. Customer service is essential. Work closely with the City of L.A. to build relationships, manage documentation, manifests, labels, and shipments.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
  • Read work orders and ensure all required equipment is available and operational prior to starting jobs.
  • Inspect equipment and general work area prior to starting any job; correct deficiencies that may cause accidents, injuries, lost productivity, or harm to equipment.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment when required.
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork, including service receipts, and submit to designated management.
  • Train Technicians I and II in equipment operation and service line processes.
  • Practice safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.
  • Provide industrial services using appropriate techniques, including handwork or manual work in accordance with established methods and regulations.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness in cleaning areas.
  • Check equipment at the start of each shift.
  • Lead safety meetings and ensure Clean Harbors safety policies are followed.
  • Meet progress deadlines and efficiently utilize resources.
  • Instruct, provide feedback, and direct crew in performance of job duties to complete work in accordance with client requirements and Company policies.
  • Enforce Company employee policies and remove employees from jobs when required.
  • Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures, including environmental health and safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to interface with clients and management.
  • Ability to manage project-related vendors.
  • Ability to manage, reconcile, and review all job-related documentation.
  • Perform physical functions per job requirements.
  • Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial emergency response, Hazmat clean-up, or confined space entry.
  • Supervising or working in confined spaces.

Pay

$25 per hour.
