General Summary
Flambeau, Inc. seeks an Inside Sales Specialist to sell proprietary products to assigned accounts. Key responsibilities include relationship building, expanding product offerings, pursuing new business, and maximizing customer experience.
Essential Duties
- Acquire a solid understanding of proprietary products, including features, benefits, and value-add propositions.
- Communicate product line breadth, features, and benefits clearly via various platforms.
- Understand stock product offerings, sales policies, and terms and conditions.
- Gain knowledge of proprietary product market applications and the competitive landscape.
- Manage product line position, price, profit margins, and forward profitability.
- Utilize marketing tools and internal contacts to enhance customer expansion.
- Participate in negotiations, agreements, and programs like sales allowances, rebates, managed inventory, and other services.
- Prepare and complete RFQs according to company policy and document them.
- Coordinate sales-building activities with Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, Credit, and Operations.
- Identify and coordinate with target prospects and participate in business development activities.
- Conduct outbound sales calls to sell existing customers and prospects.
- Use marketing tools such as web leads, industry prospect lists, and trade shows to identify potential customers.
- Coordinate customer visits with respective plants when necessary.
- Attend factory events for customer visits, which may require travel.
- Participate in sales forecasting, expense planning, and budgeting processes for assigned accounts.
- Monitor engineering changes (ECRs) and take appropriate price actions based on margin goals and guidelines.
- Awareness of proprietary mold locations, conditions, age, and useful life.
- Assist with shipment of prototype/pilot build parts and advocate for the sale of proprietary products.
- Document special exceptions and escalate issues as needed.
Requirements
- College degree preferred; relevant sales experience with OEMs or B2B sales accepted.
- One to three years’ experience selling or account management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Good understanding of basic math and analytical skills, including margin calculations and P&L statements.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, and PowerPoint or presentation graphics is beneficial.
- Professional appearance and conduct expected within the organization and displayed with customers and prospects.
