About the role

The Inside Sales Rep is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to meet customer needs, including serving customers in person and on the phone, handling reservations, contracts, and order adjustments. This position involves constant interaction with the public and co-workers, requiring moderate to frequent lifting and significant walking, bending, pushing, and transporting of objects.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers at the rental counter and on the phone.
  • Serve customers by providing information on equipment or product availability, pricing, terms, and services.
  • Rent equipment and compute charges based on rental or service rates.
  • Prepare and receive payments for rentals.
  • Answer telephones and receive orders by phone, recommending products and services to meet customer needs.
  • Reserve items and maintain rental reservation files, updating and calling customers on overdue lists.
  • Maintain daily contract files, check rental contracts and equipment for accuracy, and ensure proper equipment is dispatched.
  • Prep and load equipment, check fluid levels, and test equipment operation before loading.
  • Clean and maintain showroom and equipment, set up equipment in display areas, and instruct customers on proper equipment use.
  • Unload equipment securely, secure loaded equipment according to company procedure, and fill propane cylinders as instructed.
  • Assist in displaying equipment, moving or removing equipment from display areas, and assisting with deliveries.
  • Check returned equipment for damage, report damage, and document receipt.
  • Stock parts and inventory, inform supervisors of low inventory levels, and report safety violations to supervisors.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and comply with government safety requirements and other regulations.
  • Operate computer terminals, telephones, faxes, calculators, etc.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs on a moderate to frequent basis.
  • Must possess customer relations skills.
  • Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems related to counts, inventory, and costs.
  • Must speak English clearly and write legibly.
  • Must be able to understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form.
  • Must pass a company drug screen.
  • Must have sufficient range of motion and dexterity to perform tasks with or without accommodation.
