About the role

We are seeking an energetic Inside Sales Representative with proven experience in the metals industry to drive revenue growth by managing customer relationships, quoting product and service solutions, and supporting order fulfillment. The role focuses on selling metal products (including aluminum and steel) into B2B and manufacturing markets, working closely with operations and outside sales to deliver timely, accurate proposals and outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Inside Sales with a focus on metals or industrial products; strong preference for candidates with prior metals industry exposure.
  • Minimum 2 years of B2B or manufacturing sales experience, including quoting and order management (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Familiarity with aluminum and steel products, terminology, and common manufacturing processes; ability to interpret basic technical specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong negotiation ability, and a customer service orientation.
  • Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel for pricing and reporting).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment to meet sales targets.
  • Nice to have: experience in Manufacturing Sales, outside Sales collaboration, aerospace industry customers, and knowledge of metal processing services (cutting, finishing).

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound customer inquiries and proactively generate outbound prospecting to grow sales within assigned accounts and territories.
  • Prepare accurate quotes, proposals, and order acknowledgments for metal products and value-added services (cut-to-size, processing, kitting), ensuring pricing, lead times, and specifications are correct.
  • Manage the full sales cycle for inside accounts: identify customer needs, present product solutions, negotiate terms, and close orders to meet sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing, aerospace, and other industrial customers through regular communication, technical support, and timely follow-up.
  • Cook up with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery and resolution of order issues or product quality concerns.
  • Maintain and update customer records, quotes, and opportunities in the CRM; track pipeline and produce regular sales reports.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities for additional metal grades, processing services, and long-term supply agreements.
  • Stay current on metals markets (aluminum, steel) and competitor offerings to articulate value propositions and pricing rationale to customers.
