At Allstate, great things happen when our people work together to protect families and their belongings from life’s uncertainties. For more than 90 years, our innovative drive has kept us a step ahead of our customers’ evolving needs—from advocating for seat belts and air bags to leading in pricing sophistication, telematics, and device and identity protection.

About the role

As a Moderate Inside Property Adjuster, you will provide exceptional service to our policyholders. Working from our Scottsdale office, your primary responsibility will involve virtually inspecting damages, investigating coverage, preparing estimates, and settling claims promptly and accurately. You will interact with customers, contractors, and vendors through software platforms such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration via voice calls, email, and text messages. This role focuses on water losses, ensuring customers receive the highest level of support and resolution for these claims.

Responsibilities

  • The Customer Service Expert: Live into Allstate’s Claims Culture by caring, empowering, and restoring. Handle each property claim with compassion, clarity, and commitment, leading with empathy.
  • The Investigator: Confidently and independently investigate property claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
  • The Effective Communicator: Use phone, email, and video chat to guide customers through a fast, fair, and easy claims process. Offer customers their preferred communication method to discuss claim needs and provide updates.
  • The Negotiator: Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants in accordance with legal and business standards. Handle challenging and complex situations with effective tactics.
  • The Problem Solver: Utilize multiple tools—including estimate platforms, job aids, and settlement systems—in a fast-paced environment while applying sharp critical thinking skills.
  • The Recorder: Protect the company financially by adhering to policy agreements and maintaining clear, accurate records in the claims system. Ensure timely and precise documentation for each claim.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of previous customer service experience (required).
  • Previous industry experience (highly desired).
  • Proficiency in Xactimate and other relevant software for virtual assessments (preferred).
  • Ability to assess property damages and accurately determine claim coverage.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills for remote interactions with customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a virtual work environment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality and efficient claim resolutions.

Schedule

In-office Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm, with rotational Saturday duty (from home). Flexibility in workday schedule is required, including mandatory weekend shifts. This role involves supporting customers during their times of need, so you must be willing to work some weekends and extended hours if necessary.

Training

You’ll receive comprehensive training to build a claims foundation and understand the systems and processes used in your day-to-day work. Ongoing training opportunities for continuous improvement are provided regularly on the job.

If applicable, you must secure the required license(s) within 60 days of hire. The Hiring Manager and Centralized Licensing team will assist you in this process.
