About the role

An Inpatient Therapist at Collin Springs is part of a diverse healthcare network dedicated to enhancing community health. This role involves conducting therapy sessions, providing family counseling, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts individual and group therapy sessions to address psychological, emotional, or substance abuse issues.
  • Participates in treatment planning and provides family session counseling.
  • Communicates effectively with clients, families, and external referral sources.
  • Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff.
  • Demonstrates active communication with the Utilization Review (UR) team on treatment and length of stay (LOS) issues.
  • Completes necessary paperwork accurately and promptly according to hospital standards.
  • Displays appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
  • Assists in crisis situations, ensuring patient safety and coordinating with the team.
  • Performs thorough assessments using clinical skills and assists in care coordination as needed.
  • Ensures accurate documentation in compliance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strives to maintain confidentiality and complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participates in discharge, transition, and after-care planning processes.

Requirements

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field is required.
  • Previous experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients is preferred.
  • CPR and de-escalation certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • A current clinical or social work license is required by state regulations.
