Inpatient Speech Language Pathologist, PRN

About the role

Texas Children’s is seeking an Inpatient Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, primarily with patients aged 0-21. Applicants should have advanced knowledge of dysphagia and acquired neurological deficits.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient evaluations/consultations and interprets results
• Verbalizes results to patient and/or family/caregiver and/or referral source
• Collaborates with patient and/or family/caregiver to develop treatment plan
• Implements treatment plan and monitors progress
• Maintains records as required by law, IDS policy, and administrative regulations
• Attends and participates in continuing education programs to maintain licensure and promote professional growth
• Promotes speech-language pathology services within the community and the IDS

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology field of study required
• CCC-SLP certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association required
• TX-SLP license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation required
• 2-year professional experience as SLP in pediatric setting (may include clinical fellowship but excludes training completed prior to completion of Masters degree)
