Job Summary
The Speech Language Pathologist at Sheltering Arms Institute will conduct clinical speech language pathology services, including comprehensive patient assessment and intervention for various diagnoses. This position requires previous clinical experience with planning and executing evaluations and treatments for neurogenic, motor speech, linguistic/cognitive communication disorders, and swallowing disorders. Experience with swallow studies and trach management is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and interventions for language, speech, voice, cognition, and swallowing impairments.
- Treat patients of all ages 12+ years old.
- Instruct therapy support staff, students, other team members, and patients/caregivers.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an ASHA-accredited program in Speech and Language Pathology.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) - SLP.
- Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a SLP.
- CPR certification.
Skills
- Experience with planning and executing evaluations and treatments for neurogenic, motor speech, linguistic/cognitive communication disorders, and swallowing disorders.
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) and/or Fiber-optic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES).
- Experience with trach management as related to swallowing and communication disorders.
Benefits
Compensation: $55.00 per hour. Final compensation depends on experience, skills, and internal equity.
