Description
Occupational Therapist provides patient care assessment and treatment, program development, and team leadership when assigned. Responsible for mentoring Therapists, Assistants, Technicians, and Students. Plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs in hospital settings to help rehabilitate those impaired due to illness, injury, or psychological or developmental problems. Collaborates with other healthcare team members and physicians in a multidisciplinary fashion to deliver high-quality care. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities. Facilitates the provision of excellent customer service.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s or Doctorate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy.
Experience
No prior experience required.
Licenses, Registrations, Certifications
Current NC Board of Occupational Therapy license.

- Analytical abilities to delegate personnel, problem solve with positive solutions.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills required to facilitate interactions with stated customers and staff members.
Work Environment
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, temperature changes, and occasional noxious odors.
- Stressful work periods occasionally encountered.
Physical Requirements
- Standing for most of the day.
- Lifting/assisting patients with transfers, bed mobility, and ambulation as well as their exercise programs.
