Inpatient Rehab Nursing Assistant
About the Unit
We are a 64‑bed Inpatient Rehab Unit that sees a variety of patients who need to work on both functional and medical problems. We treat orthopedic patients recovering from hip fractures, complex knee replacement, back surgery with neurologic involvement, multi‑trauma, and other orthopedic issues. We also see neurology patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord tumors, traumatic brain injuries, Parkinson’s, MS, and any cancer diagnosis with functional decline. Additionally, we care for patients with amputations and other complex medical/surgical issues accompanied by functional decline. Patients participate in 15 hours of therapy across the 7‑day week, and nursing continues the interventions practiced in therapy sessions to maintain safe mobility. For many patients, rehab is the key to returning home with their families, making this a very rewarding unit where staff share in patients’ progress toward that goal.
