Inpatient Physical Therapist Lead
About the role
The Physical Therapist Lead provides oversight for the clinical staff and serves as a point of contact for guidance. Assists manager in hiring and evaluations. Provides evaluations and administers treatment procedures to patients referred for physical therapy. Directs and guides patient/family teaching. Provides oversight for ancillary personnel while maintaining professional standards. Interacts with other members of the rehabilitation team to coordinate goals and improve quality of care.
Responsibilities
- Onboarding and Training of new staff: Assists with clinical educational requirements for staff, including completion of hospital defined competencies. Assists Manager with completion of clinical competency in specific discipline.
- Coordinate Volunteers for area: Establishes and maintains volunteer schedules in the area of practice.
- Coordinate supplies and ordering for area: Coordinates order of supplies, forms, test materials with designated personnel to complete orders.
- Patient Care: Provides patient care in specific discipline maintaining defined productivity requirements. Assesses physical therapy patient condition by interpreting physical therapy evaluations and test results, determining physical therapy treatment goals and plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription. Accomplishes physical therapy patient treatment plan by administering manual exercises through instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities and in using assistant and supportive devices.
- Clinical Resource for Department: Stays abreast with professional trends and maintains growth and licensure. Act as go to person for discipline or area specific general questions.
Requirements
Licensed Physical Therapist. BLS-HCP. 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently as well as collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Computer competence and command of Windows environment, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
