Responsibilities

• Obtains blood specimens: Follows proper patient identification protocols
• Obtains blood specimens: Follows established blood collection protocols
• Obtains blood specimens: Utilizes straight needle during most venipunctures performed
• Obtains blood specimens: Fully competent in order of draw
• Obtains blood specimens: Checks tubes at time of collection for expiration dates
• Obtains blood specimens: Demonstrates a high level of skill resulting in minimal unsuccessful draws or recollects
• Obtains blood specimens: Demonstrates excellent knowledge of blood collection fundament
