About the role
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technicians are sought for a dynamic team at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. The hospital is part of Washington University Medical Center and is ranked among the top hospitals in the country. The pharmacy staff includes academic faculty, residents, and other medical professionals.
Responsibilities
- Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; ensures regulatory cleanliness compliance.
- Assists in the preparation of medication orders, managing workflows, basic preparation, and non-sterile compounding.
- Supports inventory activities, including ordering, rotating, beyond-use dating, and cleanliness.
- Assumes primary responsibility for a specific task, function, or area of specialty, such as training, system maintenance, inventory management, workflow, process improvement, and proficiency in associated electronic/automated systems.
- Pursues proficiency in complex sterile compound preparation and seeks out additional responsibilities.
- Performs multiple technician responsibilities across the pharmacy or assumes primary responsibility for a focus area, including training, system maintenance, inventory management, workflow, process improvement, and proficiency in associated electronic/automated systems.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: 2-5 years.
- Licenses & Certifications: State Board of Pharmacy Registration, Pharmacy Tech Certification.
Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: 5-10 years experience.
Skills
Proficiency in preparing complex sterile compounds, seeking out additional responsibilities, and performing multiple technician responsibilities across the pharmacy or assuming primary responsibility for a focus area.
