Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Part-time Rotating Shifts

Part-time, rotating shift (AM/PM).

About the role

Loyola Medicine Transport, part of Loyola University Medical Center and a three-hospital system including Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and MacNeal Hospital, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to perform duties associated with medication preparation, distribution, drug inventory, and patient record interaction under the direction of a Pharmacy Technician Manager and general supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Responsibilities

• Perform all technician duties related to the preparation and distribution of medications.
• Manage drug inventory and interact appropriately with patient records.
• Provide courteous, cooperative, and timely service to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Complete and maintain required annual technician competencies.
• Exemplify Trinity’s mission, vision, and values in accordance with department policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned; duties may vary by assigned area or shift.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Current Illinois licensure as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification validated by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT validated by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required for technicians licensed after December 31, 2007. Newly licensed technicians have 2 years from license effective date to obtain CPhT.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
• 1–2 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Preferred: Student enrolled in a college of Pharmacy.
• Preferred: Experience in a customer service pharmacy environment or related field.

Pay

Pay range: $18.16 – $28.14 per hour. Actual compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
