Responsibilities
- Dispense, compound, label, store, and ensure the proper use of pharmaceutical preparations.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the department, direct Pharmacy Technicians, and advance the goals of Norton Healthcare.
- Use principles of pharmaceutical care to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes for individual patients.
- Provide pharmacy-related education to pharmacists, technicians, other health care practitioners, and the public.
- Exercise leadership in all matters related to the medication use process for patients of all ages.
- Interact with physicians, nurses, patients, other health care providers, and pharmacy management in problem-solving and project collaboration.
- Support and facilitate the quality improvement (QI) process through ongoing development and monitoring of performance improvement indicators.
- Grow and facilitate Pharmacy work teams to meet quality and clinical standards of care.
- Assist the Director in ensuring effective and efficient use of all resources, meeting budget and value proposition targets.
- Perform non-standardized tasks requiring professional judgment; errors could impact cost and quality for the Pharmacy Department.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
- Desired: Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy.
- Desired: Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.
