Inpatient & Outpatient Ortho Spine Surgery Nurse Practitioner

MedStar Medical Group is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Orthopedic Spine Surgery team and work closely with Dr. David A. Weiner, Orthopedic Spine Surgeon. This full-time opportunity is based primarily out of Brandywine, MD, with patient care at our Lorton, VA office as well.

About the role

The APP will provide both outpatient clinic care and first-assist support in the operating room.

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday–Friday
• 8-hour shifts
• No weekends, nights, or holidays
• Primary location: Brandywine, MD
• Additional clinic coverage in Lorton, VA

Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage new patients
• Evaluate established and post-operative patients
• Conduct independent clinic visits
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate patient care
• Provide follow-up care for spine patients

Surgical Responsibilities

• First assist in orthopedic spine surgery
• Work closely with Dr. Weiner in the operating room
• Support surgical procedures and perioperative patient care

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
• Current PA or NP certification and licensure
• Orthopedic/spine experience preferred
• NP candidates must have First Assist/RNFA certification
• New graduates with strong orthopedic experience or interest may be considered
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and surgical skills

Pay

This position has a hiring range of USD $115,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 per year.
