About the Role

As an Inpatient Mental Health Monitor Sitter, you will perform health-related video monitoring in a correctional environment. We will count on you to report findings, observations, and the patients' unusual and daily activities to the licensed nursing staff.
Please note: This is a Night Shift position from 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM.

Responsibilities
- Perform visual or video monitoring of Inpatient Mental Health patients and report findings and observations to the licensed nurse
- Provide and maintain patient confidentiality
- Complete and process all required documentation legibly, timely, and with accuracy
- Assist the patient care team as directed to ensure patient care and unit activities are complete
- Participate in orientation and training of new staff, as well as group problem-solving and teamwork
- Complete required classes and education credits
- Answer phones as needed and perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Six months of experience performing clerical or support services in a medical setting
- High school diploma or GED
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check and maintain MCSO jail access
- Travel or floating to various clinical locations within a 5-mile radius is required
- Must be able to respond to emergencies
Qualifications
- Experience in viewing multiple computer monitors and reporting findings
- Experience observing patients and reporting findings to nursing staff

Pay
Pay Range: $17.50 - $26.50 hourly. Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.
Schedule
Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Position includes day or night shift work, which may include weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions
- Travel or floating to various clinical locations within a 5-mile radius is required
- Must be able to work inside a jail and stand/walk/bend for extended periods of time throughout the shift
- This position requires accurately handling a high volume of work, communicating with a culturally diverse patient population, and adapting to frequent changes, interruptions, and unscheduled tasks
