Inpatient Medical Facility Coder/Remote

About the role

Greenberg-Larraby, Inc. (GLI) is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Facility Coder to join our healthcare team at a well-known medical facility in Temple, TX.

Responsibilities

• Review and code inpatient medical records for the facility
• Ensure accurate billing and compliance with regulatory guidelines
• Support optimal patient care by working closely with healthcare providers to clarify documentation
• Complete coding assignments accurately and efficiently, with a strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding systems
• Clarify medical terminology and healthcare regulations
• Show excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments
• Communicate effectively with physicians and clinical staff

Requirements

• At least one credential required: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC
• At least three (3) years of inpatient coding experience in a hospital or medical facility
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments
• Effective communication skills to interact with physicians and clinical staff
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or hold a Green Card

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and encoder tools
• Knowledge of outpatient coding
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (preferred)
