Inpatient Medical Facility Coder/Remote

About the role

Join our healthcare team at a well-known medical facility in Temple, TX. As an Inpatient Medical Facility Coder, you will review and code inpatient medical records to support accurate billing and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review and code inpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding systems
• Clarify documentation with healthcare providers to ensure accurate coding assignments
• Work closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure coding accuracy and efficiency
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards

Requirements

• At least one credential required: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC
• At least three (3) years of inpatient coding experience in a hospital or medical facility
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments
• Effective communication skills to interact with physicians and clinical staff
• U.S. Citizen or hold a Green Card

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and encoder tools
• Knowledge of outpatient coding
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field (preferred)
