About the role

River Oaks Hospital, located in the suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a 126-bed private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents, and children. Among our programs is The New Orleans Institute, a nationally recognized trauma treatment program. For the past 40 years, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma-based disorders, compulsive behaviors and eating disorders. The hospital is recruiting a Psychiatrist for their Inpatient Adult and Addiction Programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct admission evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing treatment follow-up for child and adolescent patients.
• Participate in daily treatment team meetings.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
• Complete required patient documentation and notes in accordance with facility guidelines.
• Position duties include admission evaluations, daily care of assigned patients in the programs, treatment team leadership and interaction with administrative and clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in General Psychiatry or Addiction Psychiatry preferred.
• Must be comfortable treating general adult chemical dependency and detox inpatient daily caseload and ages 12 and older for weekend coverage.
• Active LA license or ability to obtain licensure.

Pay

Competitive base salary & bonus opportunities

Schedule

• Onsite, Monday–Friday
• Patient volume: negotiable, 15-20 daily caseload
• Call requirements: 1 night a week, overnight telephonic call, 1:4 weekend call
• Monday - Friday work schedule
