Inpatient Dietitian - Atrium Health Cabarrus PRN
About the role
This position involves assessing nutritional status of patients, completing required documentation, and participating in meal rounds to ensure proper nutrition care.
Responsibilities
- Affirm nutritional status through scientific literature and clinical assessment
- Document nutritional care plans, assessments, consultations, nutrient intake analyses, and patient education
- Provide and evaluate patient education materials
- Evaluate and document learner response to teaching
- Complete consults as ordered by physicians and others
- Conduct meal rounds to assess nutritional intake and status of patients and meal service quality
- Advise department on patient care and food service issues
- Teach and disseminate nutrition research findings to medical staff, nursing, pharmacy, and public
- Arrange for appropriate care for newborns, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults
Requirements
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: RegisteredDietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration and licensed by affiliated state board as applicable, or successful completion of the RegisteredDietitian exam and registration within 6 months of employment.
Education: Minimum of bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition or related field if CDR registration eligibility is obtained prior to January 1, 2024, or minimum of master’s degree if initial CDR registration is obtained on or after January 1, 2024.
Experience: None required.
Qualifications
Must be able to see, hear, discriminate color, and perceive depth. Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally. Must be able to frequently turn, climb stairs, grasp and manipulate fingers, infrequently squat, twist, bend, walk, stand, sit, and feel.
Skills
Ability to read and write, perform tasks requiring arm-hand coordination, and communicate verbally.
