Inpatient Dialysis Nurse

Role: Inpatient RN CAP 2 is an entry-level or advanced position responsible for delivering and coordinating clinically competent care to a designated patient group. Key Duties: Conducts patient assessments, documents data, adjusts treatment plans, and collaborates with the healthcare team. Provides patient and family education, administers medications, initiates emergency responses, and ensures safe dialysis procedures. Acts as a leader and mentor for staff, supports quality improvement activities, and may serve as a preceptor. Maintains compliance with policies, standards, and regulations. Qualifications & Skills: Requires current state licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and nephrology nursing experience (minimum 2 years). Preferred experience in acute dialysis. Demonstrates strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to lift heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and work in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to infectious materials. Must complete CAP requirements and participate in on-call duties. Supervision & Environment: May oversee Patient Care Technicians, LPNs, and LVNs after training and experience. Works in a healthcare setting involving physical activity, travel, and flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
