Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, and codes documentation for hospital inpatient medical records to select and sequence the appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis, ICD-9-CM procedure codes, ICD-10-CM, and ICD-10-PCS as applicable to the transition to ICD-10.
• Primary coding responsibility is Inpatient Coding.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) Preferred
• 1 year of coding experience Required
• Experience in coding at a multi-facility organization and remote coding experience Preferred

Qualifications

• One or more certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CIC, CPC-A, CPC-H Required
