Inpatient Cardiology Hospitalist

About the Role

LifeBridge Health is seeking a full-time Inpatient Cardiology Hospitalist to join its comprehensive cardiovascular program at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD. This role offers a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule with no routine outpatient clinic responsibilities, allowing a dedicated focus on inpatient cardiovascular medicine.

LifeBridge Health is a 13,000-team-member healthcare system serving over 1 million patients annually, with a network of five main healthcare facilities and numerous primary care and specialty offices. The system includes 30 employed or affiliated cardiologists specializing in General Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Invasive Diagnostic Cardiology, providing advanced cardiac care such as high-risk PCI, TAVR, EP ablations, and extensive cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical services.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient cardiology consultations and manage hospitalized cardiovascular patients.
• Provide daily rounding and ongoing management of complex cardiac patients.
• Manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions, including acute decompensated heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, valvular disease, and cardiomyopathies.
• Coordinate care with procedural and subspecialty cardiology teams, including Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Structural Heart, Heart Failure, and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Collaborate with APPs, hospitalists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure timely and efficient inpatient care.
• Facilitate transitions of care and communication with outpatient cardiologists and primary care providers.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, care coordination, and quality improvement initiatives focused on cardiovascular outcomes.
• Support patient safety, length of stay, readmission reduction, and patient experience initiatives.
• Provide education and mentorship to APPs, residents, medical students, nurses, and other healthcare team members.

Qualifications

• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease.
• Maryland medical license or eligibility for licensure.
• Eligible for hospital privileges at Sinai Hospital.
• Strong clinical skills in managing hospitalized cardiovascular patients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
• Preferred experience or training in echocardiography (including TEE) and interpretation of nuclear cardiology studies.
